This agreement aims to attract additional non-crypto users to web3 in addition to enabling users to seamlessly transfer cryptocurrency from PayPal to MetaMask.

One of the most well-known payment systems in the world, PayPal, just revealed its cryptocurrency focus with the new integration, namely with MetaMask's creator ConsenSys. Customers will be able to purchase, sell, and trade Ethereum using the MetaMask app using their PayPal accounts as part of the deal between the two providers.

This agreement aims to attract additional non-crypto users to web3 in addition to enabling users to seamlessly transfer cryptocurrency from PayPal to MetaMask.

"This integration with PayPal will allow our U.S. users to not just buy crypto seamlessly through MetaMask, but also to easily explore the Web3 ecosystem," ConsenSys product manager Lorenzo Santos commented on the partnership.

This abundant opportunity, meantime, will only be accessible to a restricted group of PayPal and MetaMask customers who are based in the US. However, executives of ConsenSys pledged to make it possible for all US users to transfer Ethereum between the PayPal and MetaMask mobile apps over the next few weeks. In addition, except Ethereum, other cryptocurrencies are anticipated to become accessible soon. As a result, MetaMask will be the first web3 wallet to use PayPal in order to promote more effective on-ramp transactions.

If you are one of the fortunate US users of PayPal and MetaMask, you can add ETH to your PayPal wallet by performing the following actions:

- Log in to the MetaMask mobile application.
- Tap or click the Buy button, then choose PayPal.
- To add ETH to your wallet, type the desired dollar amount.
- Go to PayPal and log in to the app after that
- Purchase cryptocurrencies with PayPal

The endeavor follows PayPal's push to facilitate cryptocurrency transfers between a number of well-known cryptocurrency exchanges earlier in June.

It is currently uncertain if the two payment providers will expand their crypto-transferring services outside of the US. Time will tell.
